Benzyl alcohol 10.5 mg as preservative Clear, golden yellow, orange in color, sterile solution.

It is used as an infusion in horses, cattle and pigs as a general condition regulator and support for primary treatment in cases of fever, pain, weakness and exhaustion, coli-mastitis, acute and severe septicemia, birth septicemia, diarrhea, pneumonia, acetonemia and intoxications, transport-related diseases, milk fever and paresis, hemoglobinuria. Novacoc is recommended in addition to the main treatment against infection.

Intravenous infusion is done slowly at body temperature. Horse/Cattle: 50 ml/100 kg Pig: 4.5 ml/10 kg Administration for more than three days requires reassessment of indications. Depending on the course of the disease, it can be applied once a day.

Special Clinical Information and Warnings for Target Species

Metamizole and caffeine are doping-related substances. It should only be used in competition/racehorses in accordance with the relevant legal regulations. It should be administered as a slow infusion at body temperature and the pulse (heart rhythm) should be monitored. In case of tachycardia and cardiac arrhythmia, the infusion should be discontinued.

Use In Pregnancy And Lactation

There are no available data to demonstrate the possible negative effect of administration of Novacoc solution for perfusion for animals at the recommended doses in gestation and lactation. It can only be used in late pregnancy in a very serious indication according to

the veterinarian's risk/benefit assessment. Metamizole and caffeine can cross the placental barrier. It can also be seen in milk.

Drug Interactions

Metamizole may enhance the effect of anticoagulants and reduce the diuretic effect of furosemide. The combination of neuroleptics (especially phenothiazine derivatives) and metamizole causes severe hypothermia. Concomitant administration of liver microsomal enzyme stimulants (Barbiturates, phenylbutazone) reduces the half-life of metamizole, thus shortening the duration of action. Concomitant administration of glucocorticoids increases the risk of gastrointestinal bleeding. Concomitant administration of other weak analgesics (Antipyretic analgesics, anti-inflammatory analgesics) enhances the effect and undesirable effect of metamizole. Calcium enhances the action of cardiac glycosides and adrenergics (Ethylephrine). Heart rhythm disturbance may occur with the simultaneous administration of inhaled narcotics. Magnesium gluconate reduces the action of aminoglycosides and tetracyclines and enhances the neuromuscular-blockade effect of aminoglycosides and inhaled narcotics. Caffeine enhances the action of cardiac

glycosides.

Symptoms, Precautions and Antidote in Overdose

Undesirable effects may occur with too rapid intravenous infusion of the drug. These may be circulatory collapse (shock), heart rhythm disorder, shortness of breath, convulsions, muscle weakness. In such cases, the infusion is discontinued and, if necessary, symptomatic treatment is started.

Milk: 48 hours (4 milkings)

Storage Conditions and Shelf Life

Store in the refrigerator (between 2°C and 8°C). Do not freeze. Protect from light. Store in a dark and dry place. The shelf life is 24 months from the date of production as it is offered for sale. Provided that it is stored in the refrigerator (between 2°C and 8°C), the shelf life after opening the inner package is 28 days. The stopper can be punctured a maximum of 4 times.
