Description
Duphlac liquid is a sweet-tasting liquid that contains lactulose and helps provide gentle relief from constipation. Lactulose helps draw water in the intestine to help soften stools making them easier to pass. Duphalac may take up to 2 to 3 days to provide a satisfactory result. The drug should be used as prescribed. The drug is taken orally.
Contraindications:
Hypersensitivity to the active ingredients or to (one) of the excipients. Galactosemia, Gastrointestinal Obstruction.
Warnings & Precautions:
should be consulted in case of
1) painful abdominal symptoms of unknown origin before the treatment is started.
2) insufficient effect after few days.
3) Patients with gastro-cardiac syndrome (Roemheld syndrome). Should be given with caution to patients with lactose intolerance.
Contraindicated for patients with galactose/fructose intolerance, Lapp-lactase deficiency or glucose-galactose malabsorption.
Chronic use of unregulated doses and abuse may lead to diarrhoea & electrolyte balance disturbance. Undesirable effects: Very Common & common (diarrhoea, flatulence, abdominal pain, nausea & vomiting).
