NEKTON-R a pet feed supplement that was specially developed to intensify the color of the red areas in the plumage.

NEKTON-R prevents feather colors from fading and can help to support the bird’s health in a natural way during the molting period.

NEKTON-R contains pure brewer's yeast & yeast cell walls and combines the advantages of the prebiotic and immunestimulating effects of yeast cell walls with valuable nutrients of brewer's yeast.

On the one hand, brewer's yeast is a high quality source of protein, on the other hand a valuable supplier of various nutrients and active substances. The nutrients contained in the brewer's yeast have a positive effect on the bird organism and are important components for new plumage, which are increasingly needed during molting. Brewer's yeast can strengthen the bird's immune system and can help support the intestinal flora.

NEKTON-R is administered in the drinking water or soft feed at the beginning of molting/rearing until the end of molting or as soon as the bird's color is fully restored.In addition to brewer's yeast, NEKTON-R contains brewer's yeast cell walls, which consist of mannan oligosaccharides (MOS) and ß-glucans. They can reduce the number of harmful bacteria in bird's intestine and increase the number of beneficial bacteria.

The need for individual amino acids during the moult is particularly high. An insufficient supply of the bird with amino acids can lead to a delayed change of feathers as well as disturbances of the feather morphology (such as, for example, curved or very soft feathers). NEKTON-R contains 18 amino acids, which can support the formation of new plumage during the strenuous moulting period.

A daily diet must contain sufficient vitamins, minerals and trace elements for a functioning metabolism and therefore a combination of NEKTON-R with NEKTON-Biotin or NEKTON-S is recommended.

The colorant used is identical to the natural substance and is thus physiologically safe. It is also used in the food industry to color food products. Carotinoides are of vital importance for colored feathers.

Feeding recommendation

This depends on the desired intensity of the colouring.

1 g of NEKTON-R (one level measuring spoon) sufficient for 10 small birds (canaries) in 250 ml drinking water or in 100 g soft food. 

NEKTON-R should be administered during molting only. The mixture should be prepared fresh each day and offered daily during this period.

Because of this supplement‘s higher content of dye than in a complete feed, it may only be added to 2,5 % of a bird‘s daily ration.
